In recent years, more and more of our customers are asking the TCS on the general models we are exporting, you may ask, what exactly is the TCS system?Today, let’s share in details.

Simply put, TCS is the "anti-slip brain" of a motorcycle. Its sole task is to ensure the rear wheel (drive wheel) maintains firm grip on the ground, whether in rain, sand, or during rapid acceleration condition, it monitors the rear wheel, and if it detects an issue, it immediately reduces throttle to stabilize the motorcycle.

1. What does TCS do exactly?

- Preventing rear wheel spin during starts and sudden acceleration.

For example, after rain, the road surface, especially on white lines or manhole covers, is particularly slippery. If you floor the throttle, the rear wheel can easily spin, causing the motorcycle to sway from side to side, which is very dangerous. In this situation, TCS subtly reduces the throttle opening (like someone gently twisting the throttle back), gradually releasing power, allowing the motorcycle to move steadily forward.

-Prevents Rear Wheel Swing When Braking or Releasing Accelerator.

Don't assume wheel spin only occurs during acceleration. On wet or slippery surfaces, suddenly releasing the accelerator or downshifting can cause the rear wheels to be dragged by the engine, resulting in a fishtail. TCS can detect this and intervene promptly, reducing the risk of a dangerous "rear wheel swerve."

-Reduces the Risk of Skidding and Crashing When Cornering or Leaning into Corners.

If the rear wheels suddenly slip in a corner, you will be on the ground. TCS constantly monitors the lateral slippage trend of the rear wheels. Once it senses a slippage, it decisively cuts off some power, allowing you to slow down naturally and regain tire traction. This makes cornering much more reassuring.

-Handles Various Rough and Slippery Roads with Ease.

Whether it's a regular road recently traversed by a water truck or a rural gravel road, TCS can adjust power output in real time. You don't need to frantically control the throttle; your motorcycle will maintain a relatively stable posture on its own.

 2. Who needs this feature most?

Motorcycles with large displacement engines and rapid acceleration (such as our racing models or a few street models) especially need TCS,because with TCS, beginners won't tip over the throttle out of nervousness and risk tipping over, and experienced riders have safety when fatigued or distracted. It's like your "electronic co-pilot," pulling you back in crucial moments.

3. Does it have any disadvantages?

Of course. Sometimes, when you want to slip (for example, if you want to do some skiing), TCS will immediately and forcefully limit the power, making you feel "frustrated" and losing that raw, exhilarating handling. Many experienced riders feel this function is "too much control."

However, the good thing is that most models can manually turn the TCS off, allowing you to skid however you want (on the condition that you are an old rider).

 4. In conclusion.

TCS isn't meant to take away your enjoyment, but rather to quietly provide backup for the vast majority of daily riding. It lets you confidently ride in the rain or rough roads. When you need to go off-road, just turn it off; when you don't want to take risks, leave it on for safety and peace of mind. Ultimately, this function is like an airbag—you don't feel it most of the time, but when you really need it, it can be a lifesaver, like always,if you have any suggetions or feedbacks, please feel free to contact us by writing to info@honestmotor.net our team will be here for you 7*24h.
